On the designated day of Overdose awareness, several events are hosted worldwide with the sole purpose of spreading solid awareness and commemorating the loss caused by the deadly overdose. Below is the schedule of these events worldwide:

ADA on overdose awareness
It is the most considerable global yearly push to change overdose, as well as a moment to mourn those who have passed without shame and to honor the pain of those remaining alive. The American Dental Association (ADA) is committed to boosting consciousness about the opioid public health crisis and facing it. It has espoused efforts to prevent opioid pain relievers from damaging dental patients and their families and expand insights relevant to drug therapy alternatives to opioids. According to Robert Margolin, D.D.S., a member of the ADA Council on Advocacy for Access and Prevention, “a growing body of research supports ADA policy that dentists should consider prescribing nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs alone or in combination with acetaminophen as first-line therapy for acute pain management rather than opioids.”
ADA adopted a policy on Overdose awareness
The American Medical Association (ADA) advocates mandated continuing education (CE) in prescribing opioids and other controlled medications, focusing on reducing overdoses, chemical dependency, and diversion. Any such obligatory CE requirements should include the following:
Allow for continuing education credit that will satisfy both the DEA’s and state dental boards’ standards.Provide education targeted to dentists’ and dental practices’ individual needs.Include a phase-in period to give affected dentists an appropriate amount of time to adjust.
