He plays an honorable warrior in medieval France whose wife, performed by Emmy winner Jodie Comer, accuses Adam Driver’s best friend of date rape in the drama based on a true story. An important player in the case, Count Pierre of Alençon, is played by Affleck. A four-time Oscar nominee, Ridley Scott directed the film. The film premiered at the festival but will be released in theatres on Oct. 15 in the United States. According to a source, the two were looking forward to spending time together in Venice. “Jennifer is thrilled to be able to join Ben in Venice, even though they both have a busy fall ahead of them,” the source said.
